We have been serving plates of authentic Mexican seafood dishes, using classic recipes passed on from generation to generation, but also Central and South America, and a few Worldwide dishes in its original state.
Ceviches, Aguachile, Fish and Chips, Macanese Mussels, Baja Fish Tacos, Pescado Relleno en Papillote,  Mojaja Frita, Quesedilla de canaron, also ask about our Special and so much more!

We do our share we use 100% bagasse recycling plates.

After noticing that “The Surfing Capital of the World” had plenty of hot dogs and burger joints, the need to have a restaurant that serves authentic seafood dishes was very obvious; consequently, Seafood Zone – Mistral Hunter was born…the shortest step to Baja!

We Offer vetrans and First responder 10% Discount upon valid ID.

First time here with my mom and it was an amazing experience ! Kate helped us and she was extremely friendly and funny . We had a nice talk with her and she recommended some great dishes .

Ceviche mixto : the ceviche here is super fresh and they give you a lot! The flavoring was just right ! Not too sour like other places .

Calamari : this was honestly some of the best calamari I’ve ever had . It was the right amount of crispy and the texture was really good .

We also got the fish and shrimp with sauce and cheese. I forgot the full name but it was amazing ! Super flavorful!

The customer service here is really good. Kate was wonderful and had a great sense of humor that made our dinner very memorable . Will definitely be coming back

Delicious fresh seafood. We had the fish and chips which is mostly breaded fish that melts in your mouth (not the English dish)
THe salmon plate is absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly. My husband had a shrimp bowl and it’s hands down our absolute favorite. Deliciously seasoned huge shrimp in a bowl of rice and chips.
Service is also amazing.
Definitely recommend this place.

-Violeta

The seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. I had the bowl with grilled fish and hubby had Baja fish tacos.

-Susan

This was really a great find. Nice cool and shady back patio, chips and salsa when we sat down and fresh fish! My fish tacos were huge! I could only eat three, but my husband helped with the third one. Ordered the mixed ceviche tostada and fish and chips. Delicious!

-Brie

Fresh food!
Had fish and chips, shrimp bowl, ceviche, monster churro dessert.
Good customer service!
Will come again!

Great little place.  One of a kind. Food is not overly salted or spiced.  I had the quacamole, complimentary chips and salsa,  and a grilled fish taco,  filled with grilled/sauteed onions, pico de gallo, a large slice of avocado and creme sauce. It was pretty yummy.

There’s an outside patio, indoor seating and bunch of benches and tables surrounding the outside of this small establishment, each with its own little cove.

There’s music playing inside and out. Kid friendly and they serve a great michelada, amongst other beers and they have wine too.

The service was amazing.

This was delicious and very affordable! My husband and I wanted seafood while we were in the area and found this. We spent 30$ for the 2 of us to get fish as shrimp and chips, and fish and chips. Just for a reference. The fish was very fresh, you could tell! And there were a ton of fries! The only suggestion we had was they needed a cocktail sauce in addition to tartar.

-Lindsay

This is what fresh seafood is all about. We asked the wait person what their specialties were and she suggested something that sounded heavenly and we were not disappointed.

We ordered the mixed seafood cerviche, and a delicious medly of fish layered with cheese & shrimp, peppers & onions in a light red sauce. This came with a side of rice and black beans, lettuce and slices of whole avocado.  The portions are generous and the service was great.

I was looking for a place to grab some dinner and found Seafood Zone! Because of all the good reviews, I decided to give it a try. I got the bean and cheese burrito w/ salad on the side and chips and salsa. The burrito was huge and delicious! The black beans and the melted cheese inside a flour tortilla…man it was bomb. I know it sounds very simple, but trust me, it was delicious. It’s very different from other bean and cheese burritos because they actually use whole black beans! Everything was only about $8 ish, which is so cheap. Come check this place out!

This is my favorite place for ceviche mixto. The amount of seafood and the seasonings are perfect. I sometimes eat or order from this place every day. The ceviche mixto is fresh, consistent, and tasty. The place is clean and has a very relaxed vibe.

-Genevieve

This food makes a girl wanna speak Spanish. Yum!! Came out here with my family and dog. Don’t judge a restaurant by its cover. The food tastes so much better than its ambience.
Filete  de pescado al mojo de ajo was as magical dish that tasted like Mexican food, italian food, AND Asian food. Their fried fish tacos, carne asada tacos, etc. Were very delicious as well.

-Gina

Always good. Friendly and casually intimate patio.

The owners seem to be genuinely pleased to have customers; and not in the “I can’t believe people eat here” kind of way but “I’m happy to share what I do well with anyone” kind of way.

-Benjamin

What a hidden gem! Mexican style seafood in the cutest little setting!

Context: been here as a party of two on two occasions and never had a problem with seating or parking

Environment: indoor and outdoor but outdoor is the best – feels like you’re in Malibu hole in the wall joint

Food:
* Guacamole: delicious and perfect seasoning! Normal price for guacamole and they gave me chip refill
* Shrimp and fish ceviche: so good here! On a tostada chip – definitely need to use chips to finish the ceviche. On the bigger side than other places but so tasty and fresh!

Price: fair!

Service: good, although I think they were annoyed when I asked to switch the mountain dew to Pepsi

Overall: will be back!

I was originally drawn here by the pictures of camarones de diabla but they stopped serving that months ago. I was pretty disappointed (love everything spicy) but tried the camarones con ajo (garlic shrimp) by their recommendation and it did not disappoint!! The shrimps were surprisingly fat and juicy and the sauce was so flavorful and delicious. The rice and salad dressing were simple but outta this world.
We also got shrimp cocktail for my first time. Thought it

-Sereh

The staff was great, the restaurant was extremely clean, and the service was also great.

I am used to overpriced, small-portion servings in other seafood/marisquerias establishments.
Food is great! Generous portions for the price (one tostada can make two tostadas easy), fast and friendly service.
I recommend it 100% and looking forward to visiting again.

As we were on our outing to Disneyland, my girlfriend and me were craving seafood and yelped seafood restaurants and decided to give Seafood Zone a try. Even though it was kind of out our way we gave it a go due to it having 4 and a half starts and over 800 reviews. Since it was around lunch time, I expected it to be busy but when we got there, there was only one other couple waiting for their food.
I ordered the Filete relleno de camarón which is a filet with shrimp and my girlfriend had a shrimp cocktail. Before our food came to us, our server brought out chips and salsa which tasted fresh and the salsa tasted fresh as well. Our food took about 10 to 15 minutes to come out which is the appropriate time for any meal to be freshly prepared. I was actually impressed with the food because it was delicious and the lady serving us made sure we were taken care of and wasn’t annoying or extra like a lot of servers that want that tip.
I love the sign that they have in their restroom and personally believe every single restroom should have that sign. It says “if you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie”. I love that because it’s so true and also the restroom was clean!!!
If you’re a seafood fan and you’re in the area, check this place out because I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

-Leo

My wife and I have been coming to this place for lunch and we love it
The service is great , the Lady who works there  makes you feel welcome and the food is awesome
Their grilled fish and shrimp tacos make us keep coming back
Even their soda taste better on the glass jars they use
Definitely recommend this place

Not just great fish tacos and Mexican food!

Chef Katia brings it all to this lovely local eatery. We have enjoyed fish tacos, a daily special-chili cheese fries, and soup to name a few dishes. Fish tacos can be breaded or grilled served solo or in a combo. The chili cheese fries special was an enormous portion and the chili was awesome. The surprise is that the daily specials are unique and tasty. One of yesterday’s specials was albondigas soup and another was a ricotta and spinach stuffed pasta. Chef Katia treats you to great food with her culinary skills. She is the real deal!

If you are looking for something Mexican and are open to be surprised by great dishes and generous portions even beyond Mexican, go introduce yourself to the Seafood Zone and Chef Katia’s culinary creations.
